Kinna Öhman: Executive Producer, Web Person, Writer, Sound Mixer, Photographer

Kinna grew up in northern New York. She graduated from Middlebury College in Vermont with an undergraduate degree in Economics, then soon moved out to Montana and Colorado for the next twelve years. She completed a master’s in Environmental Policy from the University of Colorado (Boulder) – and lived and worked in the Rocky Mountains (always within a short distance from wilderness areas and national parks) for the remaining time. She returned to the northeast in 2004.

Kinna wrote and photographed as a freelancer and also produced stories for public radio. She videoed a farming culture in northern New Mexico over a two year span and helped create a trailer for the project called: Agua Es Vida. Kinna began her work in website design and creation in 2008. She created the Adirondack Park Nature Magazine in March of 2009 – customizing the site with audio, slideshow, and video capabilities. Her interest in multimedia combined with simple, affordable website design lead her to recently found the company Speckled Dog Media.

Kinna and her partner, Gene Leone, split their time between their small farms in central Vermont and eastern Ohio.

By the way, the name “Speckled Dog Media” was inspired by two Border Collies – Laddie (see top left) and Sessan (on top right).
